        Collaboration Platforms
        – Implications for Japanese Industry –

Robot Revolution Industrial IoT Initiative (RRI)

4. Lecture summary:
The concepts of data spaces such as IDSA and Gaia-X, which appeared from 2018 to 2019, are starting to form a digital ecosystem. In Europe, Catena-X has started in the automotive industry, and Factory-X has also been considered as a horizontal expansion of its results. Furthermore, a structure such as Manufacturing-X as an umbrella that encompasses them has come into view. The design is beautiful. So what about social implementation? I would like to think about the approach in Japan together, taking into account the differences between Japan and Europe, such as the state of data governance of companies as users.

5. Lecturer profile:
In 2018, he was seconded from Toshiba Digital Solutions to the Robot Revolution Industrial IoT Initiative (RRI). He currently serves as the Industrial IoT Promotion Manager, Secretary General of the Domestic Committee for the International Electrotechnical Standardization IEC/SyC Smart Manufacturing System Committee (SM), and an international expert for IEC/SyC SM AG1, WG1, WG2, and WG3. He also serves as the executive team for the government’s Japan-Germany collaboration, acting as a liaison with the German side and promoting exchanges with the US Manufacturing Institutes.
