Research on computational statistics centered on the development of programs for time series analysis and research on the application of nonlinear stochastic processes to statistical physics

The main themes are research on computational statistics centered on the development of programs for time series analysis and research on the application of nonlinear stochastic processes to statistical physics. The board that has been researching the physical random number generation method since 1988 and is in operation at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences is the fastest in the world, and has been certified as an “information processing heritage” by the Information Processing Society of Japan (2016). He is also interested in statistical education and has won the Software Award of the Japan Society for Computer Statistics (2010) and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award (2017) in the field of science and technology.
