He is working on launching a leading-edge logistics science course that studies “congestion studies” and the efficiency of logistics.
Car traffic and traffic congestion are now one of the major social issues. “Congestion amount” is studied using a new mathematical physics approach to solve this problem.
Traffic jams occur not only in cars and people but also in buses and elevators. Similarly, stagnation occurs due to an increase in inventory at production lines and logistics sites in factories.
He studies these social stagnations using knowledge from various fields, and theoretically solves them using mathematical models. He is also proposing a new optimal solution through experiments, observations and simulations.
In recent years, he has set up a crowd management study group that aims to optimize the overall flow of people, and has been working as an advisor to the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee for safe audience guidance.
He will also set up an advanced logistics science course to improve logistics efficiency and contribute to sustainable logistics in the future.
